Who am I?
Hi I’m Miriam 👋🏼
I’ve been talking on the internet for three years1 about books, articles, podcasts, and generally big questions I have about society. In my corner, we’re learning, questioning, relearning, and thinking some more. You get it.
On this Substack, you’ll find me curating, critiquing, and facilitating conversations around questions and ideas (as inspired by books, articles, podcasts etc.) You never know what I might recommend but it’s all something you’ll want to text to a friend or bring up at the dinner table.
What I'm curious about
Who are we?
What are the influences that make us up?
How does that show up in our identities, perceptions of the world, and relationships with others?
How can our self-knowledge orient us towards action?
My operating principles
Curiosity can be the antidote to doom
Fight against binary thinking. Try to stay in the uncomfy gray areas
Come to your own conclusions
Our focus is resistance. Choose what to spend time on with intention and thoughtfulness
Slowness brings clarity. Sit with ideas, voices, and questions

IRL meetups would be SO FUN
My pledge
I am giving myself permission to think of this paywall as an experiment: What does it look like to commit to weekly posts on here? How can I solicit feedback? How can I share more about the process of building this part of my business?
I’m hopeful that I can sustain this and also, I commit to practicing my value of “showing my work in progress early and often.” I will discuss my thought process and decision-making on here, and will be vulnerable about it all. I intend to keep this Substack growing in perpetuity, and for the offerings to scale up, but I want to start slow and steady so it feels sustainable. Hopefully this makes sense and feels right to you all as well.
